Yes, you read right. I am going to do the Polar Bear Plunge coming up soon! It is for a really awesome cause. Donations are going to Special Olympics Kansas. I have always seen videos of poeple who do it and i thought it was CRAZY and i said, "I would never do that" well I am doing it and it is for a good cause also. My fundraising goal is 200 Dollars. so i would really appriciate it if people could help me out and also the charity. Things are going well. School is almost over for winter break and work is going well. I am ready for school to be done with so i can start taking my classes next semester. I am taking Spanish, Math and Criminal Law. Those should be pretty cool!!

I'm Back!
Regional Competition went really well. We all had a great time and learned a lot. We ended up bringing home 9 trophies one of which is the best you can get, overall team percentage. we were all very proud.
There were 4 competitions that we competed in, Firearms, Crime Scene Investigation, Testing and Physical agility. i competed in all of them. (YES!! even the physical Agility) I wasn't even going to do the physical agility but i thought hey why not. I ended up doing the best out of my whole team! I was impressed that i was the fastest seeing as how i was the biggest (probably most out of shape) person there. I completed the Physical Agility course in 1 min and 11 seconds.
The Crime scene was fun. it was an actual hotel room that we went to investigate and it the scenario was that an illegal gambling involving a police officer was taking place and got busted. we had to go in and find the evidence that was hidden.
Firearms was a lot of fun. I realize now that i still need to practice more often so i can improve my score. I scored a 209 out of a poss. 500. not very good but i will do better next time seeing as how i know what to expect.
The testing was, well... testing. wasn't fun. its testing. but we did score i think 3 or 4 trophies from that category.
Liberal was interesting. very small, smelled funny and just small western town. Nice people but just different. i did get to eat a 14 oz. kc strip with mashed potatoes, salad and soup for 15.95. i think that is a bargain!!! it was probably the best steaks i have ever had.. it was very good.
On the way back home we stopped in Greensburg, Kansas. For those of you who aren't familiar with Greensburg, it is a small town that was devastated when a F5 tornado wiped out most of their town. It really puts things in perspective when you see a nothing left but the foundation of a house with the debris of the walls scattered everywhere. It was really sad seeing everything that the tornado wiped out. Peoples lives were destroyed in a matter of minuets and how they are having to rebuild literally from ground up.
We took pictures of all of the things that we did so i will be posting those soon.

LAE Regionals Competition
So, tomorrow is when we go to Liberal, Kansas for the Regional Competition. We are leaving around Noon and it's a 6 6.5 hour drive there. We have to be there by seven for a gun safety meeting if we miss it we wont be able to shoot. I am going to be participating in the Firearms Competition, Crime Scene Investigation, and also we are all taking some tests. Police Management, Juvinile delinquincy and Criminal Law. Im excited!! I will post pictures after I get back.

work
Work sucked, it was slow, boring and uneventfull. I had to train this new guy who didnt know what he was doing. He has never served before so it was kind of a struggle to make everything click with him. only had like 5 tables. Made crap for money. My parents keep telling me to look for another job which I have been doing but with no luck. I applied at borders, no call back and i also applied for campus security at Mid America Nazerene, once again no call back. I want to find a good job that isnt waiting tables, but i think that is all i will find seeing as how i am still in school. I was thinking about UPS but im not one for much physical labor. I know lazy.
Going to the shooting range Wednesday to practice for regionals, should be fun.
I go back to school tommorrow, now i have to catch up and that is never fun.
I was talking to my Mom and i think that we are going to do a Japanese steak house for the b day dinner. That seems to be where everyone is going latley so, why not.

Wisdom Teeth Suck!
So as some of you know, I got my wisdom teeth out yesterday. Let me be the first to tell you that it isn't fun. Im sore, tired, knocked up on pain meds and all I do is sleep all day. Tonight was the first night i attempted to eat "food" . It was Mc Donalds and needless to say I was the last one done, and by the time I was done the food had been cold. I can hardly wait untill my mouth is healed and not swollen and I can eat regular food with ease.
The time is almost here!! I will be 19 years old in just 12 days. It's funny how fast time goes by and you see all the changes that have occured over the years. A new family, friends, school. heck im in College now.
An update on LAE regionals. I will be leaving for Liberal, Kansas the 26th of October. I am competing in a Firearms competition, Crime Scene Investigation and I am taking a Police Management and Criminal Law tests. I am really excited. Since joining LAE (Lambda Alpha Epsilon) I have had the chance to network with numerous people who are in the Criminal Justice field which is really cool. I have met tons of people and lots friends.
School is still going well. I have missed some school so I have to get back into the groove of things. I was supose to go on a tour of the Lenexa Police Department today but due to a sucky surgerey yesterday, i stayed home :-( That was probably a good idea seeing as how i slept most of the day.
I am going to try to go back to work tomorrow. We will see how that goes.
Also Tickets for Garth Brooks go on sale tomorrow at 10 am. So hopefuly i can get tickets, that would be anamazing show.

First Blog/ CJ DAY 2007
So, this is my first blog. My Mom has one and my Aunt has one so i thought heck, why not!
Today was Criminal Justice Day at JCCC it was pretty cool, we had a lot of people for the turn out and there were a lot of Depts. with cool things to show.
School: School is going well i think, yes i am learning that procrastination is not a good thing, and that if i just sit down and do it the first time it is so much easier and it doesn't take as long to do as i thought it would. I love all of my classes. I am taking Psych, Intro to Criminal Justice and Comp I. It's all very interesting.
Found out today that I am for sure going to the Regional Conference for LAE. I am going to be doing the Firearms competition, Crime Scene Investigation and some Academic testing. I am way pumped so i will post more on that later. It is going to be held in Liberal, Kansas wherever that is. I think its kinda far.
Well this is all for now
